Capital District Youth Rugby, in conjunction with the University at Albany Men’s rugby Team, kicked off the inaugural season of Rookie Rugby for the Albany, NY area. The program, designed for grades 1-8, attracted 20+ participants. The young ruggers went through a series of game like drills culminating in touch scrimmages. When asked about the program, Ada’s Mother Margaret replied “Ada loved it & can't wait for next week!”.
Volunteer coaches are UAlbany players and coaches. The program runs for 6 weeks on Saturdays from 10:00am – 11:15am. Cost is $30.00 per player and includes Game shirt, and participation award. If you would like more information on the program please contact John Durant at youthrugby@ymail.com .
